Tummo

Tummo (Inner Fire Breathing) is a Tibetan pranayama that generates inner heat and activates the body's energy centres for deep practice.

  1. Starting Position

Sit in a comfortable, cross-legged position with your spine straight and shoulders relaxed. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to relax.

  2. Concentration on the Breath

Focus your attention on your breath, inhaling deeply through the nose and exhaling slowly. Begin to visualize the generation of internal warmth from the base of the spine.

  3. Visualization and Breath Control

As you inhale, imagine energy rising from the root chakra to the crown of the head. Exhale slowly, visualizing the heat spreading through your body, radiating outward.
