Sama Vritti

Sama Vritti (Box Breathing) equalises the breath phases — inhale, hold, exhale, hold — to promote calm, balance, and regulate the nervous system.

  1. Starting Position

    Sit in a comfortable seated position with a straight spine. Close your eyes and relax your body.

  2. Breathing Pattern

    Inhale slowly and deeply for a count of four. Exhale slowly and completely for the same count of four. Maintain this equal breathing pattern throughout the practice.

  3. Maintain Consistency

    Continue to breathe with equal length for both inhale and exhale, focusing on the smoothness and rhythm of the breath. Gradually increase the duration of the practice as you become more comfortable.
